How to Coldcock Failure - Lessons From a Stupid-Looking Italian (VIDEO)
Ok, so when I started this blog, I really wasn’t planning to post nearly every day. Really.
In fact I’ve been planning all along on a pace of maybe once or twice weekly once I get used to it – as long as there’s something relevant and worth sharing with the real estate community of course.
And yet here I am yet again, posting for the fourth time this week. But hey, these juicy morsels just keep popping up in front of me, and the wannabe-writer in me can hardly stand it if I don’t find some way to share ‘em. And so share I must.
Today it’s because of an email I received – a golden nugget that surfaced in an inbox full of mostly spammy rubble. (Anyone else in the 250+ spams/day club? Sheesh. Thank goodness for my spam killer…)
Anyway this email, from Cris Chico of Absentee Owner Profits. It wasn’t long and drawn out – just a few simple words and a link to a short YouTube video.
I’m a sucker for online video, so I followed the link. And I’m so glad I did…
What I found was moving, motivating and truly inspirational. Well worth the 9 minutes and 20 seconds I invested. If you’ve got the time, I recommend you check it out as well (below).
It’s the story of a “stupid looking Italian” (not my words) who, facing what most anyone would call insurmountable odds, achieved what no one around him guessed was even remotely possible – through unbelievable determination, persistence and the sheer power of massive action.
One of my favorite lines is, “The greatest revenge is massive success.”
Thanks, Cris, for sharing the video. Well worth a watch. And now here’s to anyone else who’s interested…
What do you think? How does this apply to you as a real estate entrepreneur? Let’s hear it! Leave a comment…

Wow! very inspiring I love all the testimony’s and encouragement which I need right now. Thanks for sharing I am moving forward building my “buyers” data base and making offers this week. I have a Realtor friend looking for me vacant houses that have been vacant for 9-12 months or more.
Also, enjoyed Nate the first time wholesaler made 3 deals at one time. JP did an interview with him I was so excited for him. I am ready for the same kind of deals this week, I will keep you posted.
Be Blessed

I always enjoy listening to Tony Robbins! Thanks for posting this awesome vid!

I’ve been listening to Tony for a number of years and believe he is an integral part of helping my REI businesses grow, just as much as William, and Steve’s courses. Last year I was fortunate enough to make the right decision and attend his four day event in Atlanta. Life will never be the same!
Cheers,

This is really invigorating and inspiring for a novice like me making a move toward the real estate industry.

An amazing testiment to stubborness and a willingness to never give up. However, how many others like him failed in the end?
While Sly’s story inspires me to work endlessly to accomplish my dreams, the true inspiration comes from those who fail and never achieve “massive success”. Is Sly’s story inspirational because he became a star? Would his life still be inspirational to us if he had failed, never achieved his dream? I think so.
I’m not inspired by his success, but by his unrelenting focus to achieve his dream, by his willingness to never give up. The fact he succeeded is just icing on the cake.
How we deal with failure and disappointment is just as important as dealing with success, maybe more important.
While success stories fill us with hope and inspiration, what do failure stories do for us?

Gotta love it. How does it apply? When you are down and out and nobody will give in, you are the one that decides whether you will fight on or back off.
The key is that he kept trying but also changed his approach each time. He knew what he wanted in the end, but was willing to allow whatever path was available to bring him into it.
Great vid.

Inspiring story,
I love the part about the dog and unconditional love… dogs are always happy to see his/her owner.
Just a reminder you should follow your dreams, remain persistence and believe in yourself. Your self-confidence, personal persistence & Devine intervention has a significant affect on the final outcome of your dreams coming to past.
When others fail to believe or lose hope, continue to press forward, this is moment dreams are made and come to pass in a big way.

Great story.
I didn’t know the part about the dog was actually true- thought it was an urban legend.
Most people would have given up in the same situation. That’s what sets the exceptional people apart from the masses.
My dog Jim did not enjoy the video as much as I did. :0)

Tony Robbins has always been a bringre of inspiration to me but this was a story I never heard. I’m inspired by Sly’s absolute refusal to quit. Thanks for sharing this message.

Great story! I too, really like Tony Robbins. Listening to his stuff played a VERY important role in me getting started in investing in single family homes (I was currently doing mobile home deals and was afraid of the bigger deals.)
I’ve actually been trying to find my Tony Robbins stuff so I can listen to it on a more consistent basis, but haven’t had any luck lately….I may have to buy it again.
Great post JP and Cris, thanks!
